Description

:iconbeyond-the-skyline:

Name: Wolf that Knows the Way

Nickname: Wolf

Age: 1 year 3 moons (15 Moons)

Gender: Male

Breed: American Shorthair Mix ("Mutt")

Tribe: Lost Skies

Rank: Tracker

Points: None (I believe?)

Items / Accessories: None yet, will add later through rp.

Brief Personality: [Dorky][Quiet/Shy][Intelligent][Emotional]

[Dorky] Wolf, simply, is a pretty big dork. A seemingly perfect combination of shyness and intelligence, he's the type you would see with glasses and a book, would they exist and be needed to cats. He likes listening to Scribes and reading their work, and is always careful not to damage or lose anything; and he never does. He's not antisocial, but when he talks to others, he's quiet and submissive; especially to stronger tomcats, since he could develop a potential interest for them.

[Quiet/Shy] Wolf prefers to listen, not speak. He'll socialize with anyone, but any cat, even those close to him, can tell you his voice rarely comes above a murmur or quiet, smooth tone. He doesn't often start conversations, unless they're about Tribe life, like telling a hunter where they should, say, hunt that day, or telling a Trooper where a pesky predator may be lurking. He won't decline a chance to talk to someone, in fact, he enjoys talking to others, but is too shy to start conversation, were the other cat to not like him.

[Intelligent] Wolf's dream, as a kit, was to know every landmark and passage in the territory, and he's achieved it. Of course, he makes runs almost daily to refresh his knowledge and check on anything that may have changed. He's very fast, given his small size, and can run for long periods of time. He uses this to his advantage, often spending long periods of time out and about, learning and refreshing his memory.

[Emotional] Wolf's the submissive type, and though that does not automatically mean so, he's also quite emotional. He won't tell anyone what he's feeling, however, unless he's close to them. He'd rather find a male and be in a relationship before revealing anything of what he may be feeling at the time. He wants to be sure that the other cat won't be annoyed with his venting, and rather will understand him and willingly help him if he needs it. He doesn't often need a vent, for he mostly can get his feelings out by howling at the moon from his cliff, but everyone needs someone to talk to.

Brief History: [Kit][Trainee][Loss][Becoming a Tracker][Through Present]

[Kit] Wolf was the runt of his litter, born to a she-cat named Swift Flight of the Falcon and her mate Thunder that Signals the Storm. Thunder took most pride in the firstborn of the litter, a strong-built tomkit named Storm that Follows Thunder, named proudly after his father. In between the two male kits was a female named Sand that looks like Sugar. She grew up very sweet, always taking care of her brothers. After a day of wrestling with other kits, Storm would return to the nest, and Sugar would wash the dust and dirt from his tufty gray fur. Sugar's own fur was a whitish sand color, very soft and silky. Most of the time, Sugar would be with Wolf. Wolf was given such a fierce-but-wise sounding name because his parents hoped he would be strong and intelligent. It would later turn out that they got half their wish; even at a young age, he showed signs of wisdom and intelligence, but was never too much into wrestling like his brother. Sugar would lay with him and listen to him, tell him stories and listen to his, and overall be there for him, should he need it. It was partly because of this, and partly because he was born that way, that he grew to be submissive and shy. Perhaps it was also this that led him to never become attracted to females, and rather to males instead, later on in life.

[Trainee] The siblings went their separate ways when becoming Trainees. Storm, to no one's surprise, began training to become a Trooper. Sugar trained to be a Healer; her kind and sweet nature didn't fit well with anything else. Wolf's new found curiosity for the territory led him to the path of a Tracker. Although he was slightly urged by his mother to become a Scribe, since they're supposed to be the smartest of the Tribe, Wolf didn't want to sit and write all day. He wanted to run, to climb, to explore. His dream was to know the territory inside and out, know every crook and cranny, every shortcut, passage, and landmark. He would, with training, get this wish. There was only one Tracker in the Tribe at the time; a wise, older male named Wind that Races through the Woods. Wind was everything Wolf wanted to be; he knew everything the young cat wanted to know. Wind wasn't stupid, he could sense this, and he took Wolf right into it, teaching him the ways of the territory. He would often set Wolf off on his own, to explore and figure things out on his own, slipping in every now and then to sew the young cat's new knowledge together. Halfway through his training, Wolf started slipping off on his own, in the dead of night. He found that he loved the night, especially the sky. He found this particularly ironic, since he was named after a great night animal. Once, experimentally, he stood on a small cliff far from camp under the full moon, and raised his little-used voice in a howl that reached for the stars. He felt the energy of not only his ancestors, but also his namesake flowing in his blood. Or at least, that's what he thought. He would return to that bluff every full moon after that to howl like the creature for which he was named, and after that, he began coming more than just the full moon.

[Loss] Four moons before Wind predicted his training would be complete, Swift Flight of Falcon, Wolf's mother, was struck by lightning while out for a joy run in a storm. Thunder that Signals Storm was devastated, he mourned over his lost mate endlessly. Storm hid his feelings, but when Thunder ended up drowning himself, he lost it. He'd always been super close to his father. He followed in his father's pawsteps, throwing himself of a pretty high cliff and falling to his death. Wolf was devastated by the loss of three of his family members, he had only Sugar left.

[Becoming a Tracker] Two moons after the loss of most of his family, Wind decided Wolf was ready to become a full Tracker. Wolf was overjoyed of course, but he still stuck by Wind a lot. After his parents died, he had begun looking to Wind as a father, and in return, Wind viewed Wolf as the son he'd never had. Sugar talked to him every day in her den about their family as well, making sure that Wolf would make it, that he wouldn't kill himself as well. Wolf promised her he would never do that, no matter what happened. It was as if she had been waiting for that promise, for the next day, it was discovered by the elder Healer that Sugar had contracted a deadly disease several moons before, and it was slowly killing her. Sugar had known, but had never said anything. By that time, it was too late; Sugar was dead. Wolf felt as if this were a cruel blow from the Fallen, to take away his family. He stuck closer to Wind than ever. The night after Sugar died was a full moon, and Wolf returned to his cliff, howling his sorrow to the bright moon above. That was the night that Wind followed him, seeing him slipping from camp at night. When he revealed himself, Wolf was startled and embarrassed. But, surprising Wolf, Wind said nothing. The older gray tabby simply stepped up beside Wolf on the stone that jutted out over a short drop and the grassy clearing below, lifted his head, and howled. After a moment of shock, Wolf joined him. Despite his age, Wind told his former Trainee that he wouldn't give up his life willingly, if only to stay with the young cat.

[Through Present] Wind had not lied, and was still alive two moons later. Going to his cliff had become a habit that Wolf had created that he didn't want to break. He was embarrassed to think of what his Tribe-mates, especially toms he may have an interest in, would think if they found him. But he'd push these thoughts away and make sure he's not followed when he goes to his cliff. To this day, he still does this; but that doesn't hinder his extensive knowledge of nearly every blade of grass in the territory.

Relationships:

:bulletgreen:Fog:bulletblue: She's a beautiful cat, I can't understand why she'd think otherwise. Were I straight, I might just be in love with her. Any tomcat would be lucky. Other than that, she's funny and, of course, patient. I think I've found my first real friend.

Roleplay Example: [Taken from Felis-Romana]

Extras:

Sexual Orientation: Homosexual/Gay

Description: He doesn't care who he gets with. He doesn't too much mind short relationships, or one-night things (If enough cats would like him enough for something like this) But he prefers a longer, lasting relationship. He holds his emotions in normally, but sometimes they get bottled up. So he really wants someone who'll listen to him and won't get annoyed if he wants to vent to them, someone who'll understand him and what he's going through, no matter how small of a matter.

Preference: He prefers males because he likes their strength (He aknowledges the fact not all toms are like this, of course) and protectiveness. Females will listen to him, sure, but he likes to feel protected. If there's a tomcat who's sensative to others' feelings but strong at the same time, Wolf will probably fall for them.
